SHEDIAC, New Brunswick (AP) - Fishermen in southeastern New Brunswick say their fight to stop cheap Maine lobster from being processed in the province is far from over.

Hundreds of fishermen prevented a Maine truck from unloading lobster from Maine on Thursday at a Shediac processing plant. The truck returned to the U.S. border with a Royal Canadian Mounted Police escort.

Fishermen say it's not fair that the cheap lobsters are being imported just as they prepare to begin their season. One of the protesters, Maurice Martin, says processing plants risk "destroying his living" by importing Maine lobster just as the season is set to start in the Northumberland Strait.

There's currently a glut of Maine lobster on the market, depressing prices. Some Maine lobstermen resorted to tying up their boats, but prices remain low.
