BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Summer is a busy time of year for Sweetest Thing Weddings. Its busy season got off to a rough start when someone broke in and stole several items from the design studio in late June.
"We run our business through our technology. So having it gone at the height of our season, we're a little bit shaken still trying to get up on our feet and getting things organized," Sweetest Thing Weddings Co-Owner Amber Small said.
According to Small, and i-Mac, two i-pads, an i-phone and some cash were stolen.
Bangor Police state in a press release that there have been several robberies at the Coe Building besides Sweetest Thing Weddings. Now they have named a suspect.
Police are looking for Jonathan Matute. He is described as a white male five feet three inches tall, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Matute was last seen in a gold Buick Century with Maine registration 5147SL.
Police said they are looking for Matute after they searched an apartment on 19 Clinton Street Thursday night.
"As a result of that search a number of items were found that came from both the Coe Building and 96 Harlow Street," Bangor Police Lt. Timothy Reid said.
Small said the landlord of the Coe Building has taken precautions to try and prevent more burglaries by adding more locks to doors and installing security cameras.
Now that it has been about a month since the robbery, Small is doing her best to move on and focus towards the future.
"If this all works out and we get our stuff back, it will be a great blessing, but we're also just, we had to for our own sanity in the height of our season and doing weddings every weekend and all that stuff we can't, we had to let go of our technology and just say 'if we get it that's a great surprise, but otherwise we're just gonna, it's gone,'" Small said.
Lt. Reid said he thinks Matute has left the area, but if anyone has any information on Matute call Bangor Police at 207-947-7384.
