MEXICO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - State Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Mexico that has left one man clinging to life in the hospital.
Police were called to number 9 Riverside Park just off of Route 2 at 4-30 this Morning. Inside they found 30-year old Thomas Joudrey with a gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators say 3 men were inside the mobile home at the time of the shooting, including 28-year Robert Terrill, who was house sitting for the man who was renting the unit. Police are now searching for Terrill for questioning.
They say the third man inside, a friend of Terrill's, has been cooperative.
"He was awoken, not by the gunshot, but by the hollering and screaming about the gun shot and when he came and saw what happened he called 911", said Mexico Police Chief Jim Theriault.
The chief says his officers have had several scrapes with Terrill in the past and he is known to law enforcement throughout the area. He says there was alcohol involved in the incident. He also says the man renting the unit, who was in New Hampshire tending to his inuured father, did keep several guns inside.
