BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- In one month there have been six break-ins, four of them resulting in burglary, in the same downtown Bangor building.

Burglars have stolen thousands of dollars in equipment from businesses within the COE building between Columbia Street and Main Street.

The latest burglaries happened over the weekend.

Police say burglars stole more than $4,000 in technology equipment from Pulse Marketing and Hometown Newspapers LLC. Two other businesses experienced break-ins, but nothing was stolen.

This follows burglaries at Sweetest Thing Studio, where burglars stole about $4,000 in technology and cash, and at Northstar Photography, where burglars stole about $4,000 in camera equipment.

The COE Building Landlord, Paul Cook, declined to answer questions about the security in the building.

Police have not stated if they believe the burglaries are connected, but continue to investigate all of the incidents.

"I hope it's just one of those blips on the radar that there was a group of people out there that are burglarizing these businesses and that we will catch them," said Sgt. Paul Edwards, spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.

"I'm confident that we will have something soon, and that we will go back to normal again," said Edwards.
