NORTH CONWAY, NH (NEWS CENTER) - Over the years Vito Marcello has had a lot of guests visit his North Conway restaurant, from celebrities to locals.
Never before has he had one like the uninvited guest that's been hanging around his parking lot the past few days. A Bear, a big bear.
After hanging around awhile Monday night the bear meandered back into some nearby woods. But the next night there it was again, lumbering around the parking lot, climbing up this tree and sniffing around for a meal. It had the neighborhood buzzing.
It's not all that unusual for bears to wander into populated areas looking for food this time of year. This one seems to have a nose for fine italian cuisine.
"Ya know you hibernate in the woods all winter long and you wake up to the smell of my meatballs and tomato basil marinara sauce simmering you're gonna come down and hang out here too", said Marcello.
He says so far the bear has not appeared to be a threat, but if does continue to return to the area he says he'll contact Fish and Game officials to try to have it removed.
