KITTERY, Maine (AP) - Maine Turnpike officials are warning motorists of heavy traffic as people leave the state at the end of the Memorial Day weekend.

The Maine Turnpike Authority issued a traffic alert Monday afternoon advising of delays in the southbound lanes between Wells and Kittery.

Officials said stop-and-go traffic was being reported between York and the New Hampshire state line.
