SANFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police are investigating the circumstances behind a deadly car crash in Sanford on Saturday Night.
Police say around 10:00 PM on Saint Patrick's Day a car crashed in the area of 421 School Street in Sanford.
There were two people in the car, a man and a woman. The woman died at the scene, the man was taken to Maine Medical Center for his injuries.
Police are not yet releasing the identities of the occupants but say they were both in their 40s.
Police say speed was definitely a factor in the crash, but they don't yet know whether alcohol played a role.
