PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- In recent years, Facebook has extended its reach around the world, helping to inspire change, and bringing millions of people together.
However, there are still many people, including senior citizens, still anxious about joining the social media movement.
For that group, the Maine State Library is offering 3-part courses to not only show how easy it can be to navigate, but also to help them keep their information private.
One group met at the Portland Public Library today for their first class. Instructor, Pat Therrien says Facebook has become such an easy way of interacting with people, that many seniors almost have to join just to stay connected with family and friends.
