AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- There were several heated exchanges Friday at the Maine State Housing Authority board meeting, as board members clashed with the agency's executive director Dale McCormick.

Board members say there needs to be more accountability and transparency at the $1.6 billion agency and they questioned some of the agencies expenditures.

They also questioned McCormick's ability to run the agency.

"I mean how do we run this place? It's strange. I don't leave my computer, someone else presses a button and other people don't know about it? C'mon, this is really getting...... it's almost getting goofy", asked Board Chair Peter Anastos when questioning how information is dispersed by the agency.

McCormick responded,  "Peter this is serious, you are being reckless, you are drawing huge conclusions about an economic engine of this state and you are undermining it's reputation."

McCormick says she has nothing to hide. She called the heated exchanges a politically motivated attack on her. She says the agencies expenditures are all legitimate.
