BRUNSWICK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- On a freezing cold night, the last thing you probably want to be eating is a frozen dessert.
That's why a gelato maker in Brunswick gives its customers an incentive to stop in on the coldest days of the year.
Gelato Fiasco gives customers a special discount during the winter: The colder it gets, the cheaper your ice cream. For every degree below freezing it gets, you get one percent off your gelato. When NEWS CENTER was there Wednesday night, it was twenty degrees outisde, so customers got twelve percent off their purchase. Customers we spoke with say they sometimes plan their trips to Gelato Fiasco around the coldest times of day.
Gelato Fiasco is opening a new location in Portland's Old Port in about a week. But you can only get the cold weather discount at the flagship store in Brunswick.
