BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Maine's Commisioner of the Department of Labor Robert Winglass says he is always looking for ways to get Mainers back to work.  And he like his boss, Governor Lepage see technical education as a way to get there.

Today he visited the Penobscot Pob Corps Academy in Bangor to tour a virtual welding simulator. Penobscot Job Corps is the only school in New England to have this simulator. Commissioner Winglass says with federal unemployment benefits possibly ending at the end of the year the state wants to improve opportunities for employment in Maine.

Winglass says, "There are many jobs available where we cant find a match between someone who has the necessary skill and the job opening. And here at Job Corps is in fact satisfying some of that requirement. They cant do it all nor can the state but together we'll make some in roads on this thing and that's why i'm here."

Commissioner Winglass says he is concerned about the aging work force in Maine and he wants to keep the talented people we have in the state of Maine in the state of Maine.
