PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Members of the Maine State Nurses Association visited Occupy Maine's Portland site Thursday.
The group handed out bags of blankets, warm clothes and basic first aid kits. With flu season upon us the nurses want the protesters to have all the resources available to stay healthy while they stand for what they believe.
The medical ten in Portland has seen little activity but a new and larger tent was erected Thursday in anticipation of the cold weather and the symptoms that come with the change in the seasons.
Certified EMT's are also on site. NEWS CENTER spoke with one EMT who said he is volunteering his time to make sure the members of Occupy Maine stay healthy.
Members of Occupy Maine say they are thankful for the support and dedication from community members and organizations like the Maine State Nurses Association.
The group vows to continue occupying Lincoln Park in Portland until there is wide spread reform in the US and around the world.
