PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - A woman who lost her son to cancer is being honored for her work in helping hospitalized children.
Leslie Morissette is the founder of Grahamtastic Connection, a non-profit organization that gives laptops to kids who are in the hospital.
Morissette started the organization in 1998 after her son, Graham, lost his battle with Leukemia.
They started off small, giving out only 3 laptops their first year. Demand - and the ability to provide the equipment - soon blossomed. On Tuesday, she handed over the organization's 500th laptop.
It was donated by Ira Rosenberg of the Prime Auto Group.
The laptop was given to a 16 year old Cody Everett, from Harrison. He is battling leukemia. Everett is a patient in the Maine Children's Cancer Program.
