BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Husson University is expanding its legal studies program, making it part of the College of Business.
Students at Husson will now have the opportunity to get their masters in criminal justice administration in five years. Additional curriculum and faculty will be added to the school which already has a bachelors program for criminal justice, and there are currently 300 students in these programs on campus. But Marie Hansen hopes this school will continue to grow.
"One, it's popular. I think our faculty members make it that way and get the students excited about that area of study," Hansen, Director, School of Legal Studies, said. "Then additionally, we're seeing growth projections for the state of Maine, so somewhere between 10-13% in protective service and paralegal."
This program will also integrate additional computer forensic and nursing classes to give students a more well-rounded education.
