Taste of Westbrook helps Animal Refuge League

    • WESTBROOK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Animal Refuge League in Westbrook is celebrating 100 years of caring for animals with a rather unique fundraiser.    You can help feed the animals, by feeding yourselves this week during the Taste of Westbrook.

    12 restaurants are taking a part, donating a portion of the proceeds to care for animals until they can be adopted.  The Animal Refuge League says the economy has taken a toll.  not only are donations down, but the number of animals coming in is up, they are in worse shape, and they are staying longer because many people can not afford to take care of a pet right now.
