At Waynflete in Portland the Project Respect program creates mentor relationships between high schoolers and younger students from Reiche Elementary. The students meet twice a week during lunch and recess times and also after school. They play sports, do art projects and generally spend quality time with each other. The Waynflete students seek to model good behavior regarding exercise, eating healthy and treating each other with respect. The program is having a profoundly positive impact on both the mentors and the "mentees" as they grow in relationship with one another.
