FREEPORT (NEWS CENTER) -- For a second year, Freeport stores are opening at midnight for Black Friday.

A few merchants came in on Thanksgiving Day, just to make sure everything was ready to go.

The Jill McGowan retail store is opening for the first time ever at midnight.  The Portland-based clothing line has been sold in boutiques across the country for years, but has never had its own store.

This store will only be open through the end of December, but co-owner Joyce McGowan has spent the past 4 days making sure everything is ready to go.

L.L. Bean, meanwhile, had shoppers all day Thanksgiving. Its doors never close.

Freeport's Black Friday celebration kicks off at midnight as Santa Claus rides a Harley down Main Street.
