Jackie Ward to run Boston Marathon for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- NEWS CENTER's Jackie Ward has always wanted to run the Boston Marathon and will finally make that dream come true in April.

Jackie is running for the Dana Farber Institute in memory of her friend Stirling Winder who passed away at the age of 26 after an eight year battle with osteosarcoma. Her goal is to raise $10,000 and she is almost there.

Jackie is hosting a Bowl-A-Thon at Bayside Bowl in Portland on Monday, April 7th from 6 to 9 p.m. All the bowling teams are full, but non-bowlers can attend for a suggested donation of $10 per person at the door. Bayside Bowl will be donating 5 percent of all food and beverage sales.
