(NEWS CENTER) -- THE RANGELEY LAKES POND HOCKEY TOURNAMENT FEATURES SIX RINKS WITH TEAMS PLAYING SIMULTANEOUSLY. LAST YEAR, 16 TEAMS CAME TO COMPETE IN TWO DAYS OF HOCKEY ACTION. EACH TEAM PLAYS THREE GAMES ON SATURDAY IN HOPES OF MAKING IT TO THE SEMI FINALS ON SUNDAY.

PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LIFT THEIR STICKS OR THE PUCK, ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES, THE RUBBER BISCUIT DOES SEEM TO POP IN THE AIR.

THERE'S A LOT OF GOOD HOCKEY BEING PLAYED. MOST OF THESE GUYS WERE GOOD HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS, SOME PLAYED AT VARIOUS LEVELS IN COLLEGE. LAST YEAR, THE TOURNAMENT INCLUDED 11-YEAR NHL VETERAN PETER DOURIS. MR DOURIS LIVES IN YORK BEACH WHERE HE IS A REAL ESTATE BROKER.
