This week, we're actually going to start with something that's taken our Facebook page by storm... Storm Center that is. The combined brain power of our morning crew and our creative services team have come up with a unique promotional spot for STORM CENTER. It's been trending all day on our social networks and on our website. If you have not seen it yet, check it out:
Next up you've had a lot of questions about why Facebook users are turing their profile pictures into giraffe's? Well it started last weekend a trivia question started getting shared on Facebook. It was started by a travel vlogger, Andrew Strugnell. Based on your answer to the trivia question, if you got it wrong you had to change your profile for three days. If you got it right you got to keep your profile image left alone. So as it turned out, a variety of people got it wrong to the annoyance of many of their friends and family, but it was all in good fun.

Sticking with Facebook for the moment, Bitstrips are little personalized comics that are being shared like crazy on Facebook and some on Twitter. They're little comics of yourself and your friends and people are having a lot of fun with them... However some people are rather sick of them. Facebook says if you click the down arrow to the upper right of the image in your Facebook feed you should be given an option to hide all the bitstrips.
We also have an amazing story coming out of a special Facebook page/ Photo Blog called "Humans of New York." The Facebook page with nearly 2 million likes and it's also a photo blog too called Humans of New York. Since 2010, the creator, Brandon Stanton has been collecting and sharing stories of people living in New York City.
One Tuesday, a TV crew was travelling with him to do a story on him. Brandon got to talking with the videographer and discovered he had a touching story about adopting a little girl from ethiopia. He and his wife were trying to adopt a boy as well and asked Brandon to maybe post something on his site to get him some help. They had hoped to raise 26,000 and they did --- in one hour, but after one day they raised 80,000! All the extra money raised is going to the children's education. So it's great when we can have a story of social media doing good and making a difference.
