BOOKS AS BRIDGES

Books as Bridges a set of workshops aimed at helping parents and teachers talk with kids about race in communities where there is little or no diversity.

Anne Sibley-O'Brien has illustrated 30 children's books on race and multi-culturalism. She is offering two workshops on how books can help facilitate conversations with kids about race.   Both are free and will be held October 18th at Friends School of Portland. The afternoon session is specifically for teachers. The evening session is open to the public and is geared toward parents and caretakers.
