CAMERA PHONE APPS

People are taking more pictures than ever because of camera phones, but how can you take your smart phone photography to the next level. Here are some apps that help you do just that.

Take better photos: Camera+ on the iPhone; Camera advance on the Droid. Camera+ offers a stabilizer, timer, and burst functionality. Better sharing and zoom features, too.

Take cooler photos: Instagram & Hipstamatic on iPhone, Instagram & fxcamera on Droid. With instagram, my personal fave, you can apply a host of filters to a photo you're taking or one from your library. Instagram can also automatically upload your photos to instagr.am, flickr, facebook, posterous & twitter.

Go crazy with filters: Camera Art FX for iPhone; dozens on Droid. You can really go crazy with some of the filters: turn your photos into line drawings, comic book art and more.

Create a Panorama: +++ on iPhone, Panorama on Droid.

Misc.: TiltShiftGen mimics tilt shift on advanced cameras to make real world photos look like minatures. Speaking of minature, TinyWorld twists your photos to create little planets.
