BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It's that time of year, the annual Bangor Holiday Tree was put up Tuesday morning in West Market Square. Lights were also being put up on the tree.
The tree is put up with help from the city, Emera Maine and Sprague's Nursery and Garden Center, who also donates the tree. The lights were being put up as well.
The tree is about 34 feet tall and will be lit up after the Festival of Lights parade on Saturday afternoon.
“Oh there's always comments especially when the lights are flipped on at the end of the parade. It's always a big whooo! So it's an exciting time” said Dana Wardwell, Public Works Director for the City of Bangor.
“It really does you know enhance downtown Bangor. I just like doing it” said Dan Sprague who co-owns Sprague’s Nursery and Garden Center with his brother.
