The Ark is a non profit organization dedicated to the care of homeless, unwanted or displaced animals. We provide shelter and care to all admitted animals until appropriate placement can be made. The Ark does not euthanize unless a serious medical or behavioral problem exists. The Ark Animal Shelter is located at the end of Barber Lane in Cherryfield, Maine.
The Ark Animal Shelter has opened a Thrift Shop at the corner of Mountain and Ellsworth Roads, across from the Fairgrounds in Blue Hill. Business hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 to 4. The purpose of the shop is to support the shelter. The shop carries dog and cat related items like collars, leashes, toys, bedding, crates, and bric-a-brac, craft items, hardcover books, household goods and small appliances, jewelry, linens-bedding and towels, pictures and mirrors, small furniture, small kitchen equipment and appliances, small lamps, tools and toys (not plastic). Good quality and gently used donations are gratefully accepted during business hours. Visit our new thrift shop web page for photos and more information.
