Buddy to Buddy: Resources for Downeast Mainers

(NEWS CENTER)-- More people in Washington and Hancock Counties are dying from Breast Cancer than anywhere else in Maine, that's according to a 2011 study by Susan G. Komen Maine. The biggest problems in those counties is women lack access to care, and don't know what resources are out there to help them. The Downeast Breast Cancer Alliance, or DEBCA, wants to change that. NEWS CENTER's Jessica Gagne has more in this Buddy to Buddy report.

If you are interested in learning about how DEBCA can help you or a loved one, the organization is hosting an event on May 3rd at the Cobscook Community Learning Center in Ellsworth. The event is for breast cancer survivors and starts at 8 AM and will run all day. For more information, call the Beth Rights Center at 664-0339.
