Bangor teen gets $10,000 for "Team Mimi"
BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Team Mimi's founder is hitting it out of the park.
Tommy Hosmer of Bangor was one of 15 kids from across the country selected for U.S. Cellular's the Future of Good program. His prize? $10,000 for Team Mimi, a group Hosmer founded that raises money for ovarian caner research, and a free trip to New York to meet with singer Jordin Sparks.
Hosmer started Team Mimi when he was nine and held his sixth annual Team Mimi softball tournament back in May. So far, his tournament has raised more than $50,000 for cancer research.
